Got Flute? Session Flute Tracks

Recently I was asked to record a flute track on my friend Julie Cunningham’s original piece “Realize”. To show her my idea, I used an app on my iPhone (Hokusai) and sent the flute track to her. Amazingly, they are mixing that iPhone recording onto a CD!

Here is an almost final version:

I had so much fun doing this at home, that I have now purchased everything I need, including Pro Tools, to start creating professional flute tracks for other people’s music. Recently I had an onsite training session with Bill Palmer of Frogville Studio. He got me set up to produce professional level flute tracks. I am ready to go! Savor Eldorado 8/26/2018

Pianist Joseph Salack and I enjoyed playing at a house concert in Eldorado on Sunday August 26 from 6 to 9 pm. Savor Eldorado is an organization promoting the sharing of local art and music. In the last year I’ve been asking for inspiration about how to give back to my community after working as a web designer (and lately playing music) in Eldorado, since 2001. Gila Joy Pascale has worked very hard at Savor and as she is taking a break, I am gladly jumping in. The Savor Eldorado website was my first fun task as well as organizing and performing at this first Savor event for year. Artistically we were blessed by a display of Jennifer Moore’s elegant scarves & shawls as well Maggie Mae Beyeler’s ceramic work, all available for sale at the event.

We raffled off a number of items including a $100 Visa gift card and a $25 gift card for Utopia, donated by Destiny Alison. Every (suggested) $5 donation was eligible to a raffle ticket. We earned enough for the music, the next $100 Visa gift card, and reimbursements for supplies and hosting fees. YAY!

Shimmering at ECSL

Harpist/singer Carol Calvert and I (we call ourselves Shimmer) had a sweet experience playing with Joseph Salack on upright bass at the Everyday Center for Spiritual Living on 8/5. What a great service! They truly are “a loving, inclusive, omni-denominational community where we empower each other to live Joy-filled lives EVERY day.” Their celebration is offered every Sunday in the beautiful and acoustically awesome Rivera Chapel of Light located at 417 E. Rodeo Road, SF 87505 .

Here is an Enya tune we did:

What fun to have upright bass! Joseph Salack is the music director for ECSL and kindly jumped in to play with us.
